A Study of the anxiety levels of post operative opthalmic patients with cye patches


Abstract
Post operative anxiety levels of ophthalmic patient with eye patches were investigated in the study.
77 ophthalmic patients at Seoul National University Hospital were selected for the study from Apr. 1, ¢¥81 to Aug. 31, ¢¥81.
Each patient was interviewed and Jung¢¥s Anxiety Status Inventory (ASI) was administered. The obtained scores of ASI were analized. to look into the difference among groups according to sex, educational levels, age, kind of eye disease and number of operations. The findings of this study were as follows.
1) Average anxiety levels of ophthalmic patients was 42.
2) There was no significant difference of anxiety levels between sexes.
3) There was no significant difference of anxiety levels among various educational levels.
4) There was significant difference of anxiety levels among different age groups.
5) There was no significant difference of anxiety levels among various kinds of eye disease. 6) There was no significant difference of anxiety levels among number of operation.
